[Day 2] Truly Up Close, the Eiffel Tower Captivates

At 10:35 a.m., we finally found our tour guide who we had been frantically searching for for 30 minutes in the pouring rain. The meeting point was not written properly and we weren’t the only ones looking lost. Every person in the tour had been unable to find the guide originally. Anyway, we started the Eiffel Tower tour. It was super interesting. I learned a lot that I never knew!

After the first level tour, mom and I had a very fancy lunch at Madam Brasserie, the restaurant on the Eiffel tower! It served 3 courses: starter, main and dessert + 2 complimentary glasses of champagne (which of course my mom did not partake and set it to the side) + 2 glasses of wine OR coffee. My starter was a delicious and beautiful gazpacho, and mom’s starter was a petite veal with some garnishes. Regrettably no pictures of our starters as we were famished and dove right in! My main was the stuffed tomato with tabouli. (img 1) It was all vegetarian and I can’t recall what was in the stuffing, but it was absolutely decadent. Mom’s main was a delectable hake filet. (img 2) The fish just melted in your mouth. It was accompanied by a few artichoke hearts. Then our desserts were a lemon meringue (img 3,4) and a chocolate mousse (img 5) to which mom exclaimed, “This is the smoothest mousse I’ve ever had!”
