Heyo, I drew a rough backyard sketch so that Will and I could figure out where we want some preliminary planters to go. Our HoA allows for a generous amount of gardening and planters (as long as it’s in your back yard), which is nice. We have a medium back yard, but it’s not a rectangle so I thought to draw it out to get a feel for how the sunlight is in the middle of the day and the best shaping for our planting ideas.

Here’s the rough sketch.

I didn’t draw the front yard because there’s more shade, but we do have a lot of sunlight on the side of our house. We’ll be planting a fruit tree that ways, but also I completed our first in-ground planting here! A beautiful butterfly bush! I even saw a hummingbird moth on it earlier. Absolutely awesome.

We have a couple other plants ready to put in the ground, but after doing yardwork for 4+ hours, we needed a break! I will add another post about our next planting adventures soon.
