Drive-by Birthday

 It looks like a lot of my blog posts lately have been connected to birthdays…. here’s another one! 

This month is Hazel, my niece’s, 3rd birthday. She is the cutest child to exist on this earth and I’ve already prepared myself that my own eventual child will not be able to match that cuteness. My sister came up with a cool birthday party idea that allowed Hazel’s friends to “drop by” and get cupcakes without ever being within close proximity. The pandemic has helped us all become a bit more creative, I think. To give more context, here is the digital invitation that she sent out (it’s cropped to hide her address).  

How cute, huh? The party goers essentially drove by, chatted at a distance, gave Birthday wishes, gave gifts and got cupcakes!! 🙂 

I wasn’t able to come for that event but was able to drop by later. I knew that Hazel would probably get a lot of physical gifts so instead I wanted to make her something that will last a very long time and although she probably doesn’t appreciate it now, hopefully she will I’m the future. She’s always asking me to draw lions, so I did this one just for her.
